Avondale Launches Innovative AquaSmart Reduce Your Water Use Rewards Pilot Program

The City of Avondale proudly introduces the AquaSmart Reduce Your Water Use Rewards Pilot program, designed to inspire water conservation and provide financial incentives to residents. The program allows participants to earn a $100 rebate by embracing behavioral changes that lead to a 10% reduction in water usage or a $150 rebate for a 20% reduction in water usage within and outside of their homes.

The year-long initiative aims to instigate long-term behavior changes that contribute to sustainable water usage reduction among participating households. The City of Avondale will empower residents with upfront education and tools to enhance their water conservation efforts. Throughout the program, participants will receive updates on their progress, ensuring they stay on track to meet the minimum of a 10% or a 20% water reduction goal.

Participating households showcasing a significant reduction in water usage over one year will be rewarded for their efforts with a rebate of up to $150, based on the amount you conserve!

Through their participation in the program, residents will learn how to become “leak detectives” and about the benefits of water-efficient appliances and fixtures. Participants will also have opportunities to participate in optional landscaping and irrigation workshops to learn how to use water more efficiently outdoors.

A grant from the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority funds this program.
