Kick off your night of trick or treating with a one-of-a-kind spooktacular experience at Creepin’ Candy Crawl. Exhibitors and city departments will line the park in this walking experience to pass out candy and goodies for all youth participants to enjoy. Family-friendly activities including crafts and entertainment are sure to delight guests of all ages.

The West Valley’s Annual Veterans Day 5k Fun Run/Walk and Ceremony on November 11, 2025, will be held at Estrella Mountain Community College in partnership with the City of Avondale, and benefits veterans who face financial barriers to education. The City of Avondale Police and Fire Departments will also be onsite, providing interactive activities for all attendees. Local gyms will be hosting four exercise stations during the 5K run.

Bring the family and make some memories at this FREE event! Avondale turns into a winter wonderland with a visit from Santa, activities and entertainment, the premier of the holiday light show, annual tree lighting, food, and sweet treats.

Enjoy the dazzling lights this holiday season! The light display will be up throughout the season, with a show playing every 30 minutes on our City Christmas Tree. Bring a blanket or chair, your own treats, and your family and friends to enjoy this nightly show in front of City Hall.

Bring your holiday cheer and favorite winter costume to this new 1k, 5k & 10k run through the holiday lights at Avondale’s Civic Center. Embrace the festive spirit with a fun and active holiday tradition before dashing inside for the holidays.

The City of Avondale and Agua Fria High School are teaming up to bring you a fun and family-friendly 5k run through the heart of Old Town Avondale. Registration required. $35 for Adults, $25 for 18 and under.
