We are excited to announce the launch of Avondale Connect (www.AvondaleConnect.org), an innovative online engagement platform that lets residents provide direct input to the local government's decision-making process.

By using Avondale Connect, the city is making public participation easier for residents. Officials will post questions directly to residents on Avondale Connect’s website, where residents can answer and comment on the questions.

The City of Avondale, AZ maintains the community's quality of life by investing and maintaining in infrastructure, parks, road improvements, city buildings, and more through multiple projects occurring around the city. This site provides details and important dates and reminders on various projects that affect you and your neighbors.

Register Now

While you can peruse all the project pages and this site without registering for an account, we do ask that you create an account (takes 30 seconds!) to participate on the site through the many engagement tools we're using.

We want Avondale Connect to be a safe and productive place for you to learn about what's going on around Avondale, and also to provide your ideas, concerns, questions, and feedback. Social media is great for blasting a message out there, but not great for empowering productive conversations on specific issues or projects.

By asking you to register we not only encourage accountability and a safe place in the forums and engagement tools, but we're also better able to capture your feedback in a way that the Staff can use to make decisions and then communicate back to you.

How We Engage

Every project is different. There will be varying levels of engagement used to collaborate with our community, and we expect that as we learn more about what works, we will revise the tools we use for engagement.

Avondale Connect has four basic levels of engagement and a variety of tools that will be used intermittently between those levels. They range from the basic distribution of information to continued partnerships with community members. To make sure we set and meet expectations, look for the symbols below on each project to see how you can get involved. Remember, as projects happen, engagement opportunities come and go.

Engagement levels

The overall strategy to guide public engagement in projects. Below are the descriptions for the levels of engagement:

INFORM
Give information to the community.

CONSULT
Acquire feedback from the community.

INVOLVE
Community input and feedback influence the process.

COLLABORATE
Work together to form solutions and integrate advice into the final decision.

So keep an eye out for your chance to participate!

Specifically, the City wants to know how residents prefer to receive messages about future engagement initiatives.

The City of Avondale is asking residents for their input on civic engagement initiatives.
