Fall 2024 Crack Seal & Surface Treatment Projects

The City of Avondale Public Works Department, in partnership with Weems Asphalt and VSS International, will be undertaking various Surface Treatment Projects in selected subdivisions and Arterials as part of the FY25 pavement preservation program. This project is scheduled to take place from September 3^rd to December 6^th.

Bulk trash services will be unaffected; collections will occur early in the morning within the project areas. Please ensure bulk trash is placed out by 5 AM on Monday during your service week.

Expect lane restrictions and closures throughout this period. To minimize disruption, signage will be placed before work begins, and door hangers will be distributed 48 hours prior to any activity. Work hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Vehicles left in the work zones risk being towed at the owner's expense.

Please note that the schedule may change due to unforeseen factors such as mechanical issues, weather conditions, or material supply delays. The safety of the public is our highest priority throughout this project.

An overview of the project sequence has been provided below. A more detailed map will be delivered to impacted households approximately 3 days prior to the start of work. For questions or more details, please call Public Works at 623-333-4487.

The project under WEEMS ASPHALT have been completed. The projects under VSS have been partially completed, the crack seal has been completed in the scheduled locations. The treatments have been moved to the Spring of 2025, due to current temperatures. We will update the Project Sequence as soon as we have those projects dates.
