Pavement Management Program

The City of Avondale Public Works Department, in partnership with Weems Asphalt, VSS International, and MR TANNER will be undertaking various Surface Treatment Projects in selected subdivisions and Arterials as part of the FY25 pavement preservation program. This project is approximately scheduled to take place from April 14th - Jume 30th

Bulk trash services will be unaffected; collections will occur early in the morning within the project areas. Please ensure bulk trash is placed out by 5 AM on Monday during your service week.

Expect lane restrictions and closures throughout this period. To minimize disruption, signage will be placed before work begins, and door hangers will be distributed 48 hours prior to any activity. Work hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Vehicles left in the work zones risk being towed at the owner's expense.

Please note that the schedule may change due to unforeseen factors such as mechanical issues, weather conditions, or material supply delays. The safety of the public is our highest priority throughout this project.

As part of the City of Avondale Pavement Preservation Program, the Avondale Public Works Department, in collaboration with Combs Construction, will be upgrading concrete ramps to ensure ADA compliance on Avondale Boulevard. This work is part of a larger resurfacing project scheduled for this summer on Avondale Boulevard. The project will commence south of I-10 and extend to Broadway Road, occurring from August 9^th to August 17^th. The entire project is expected to run until November 2.

This work will involve some lane closures and restrictions, we will always maintain an open lane of traffic at the work zone. Appropriate signage will be posted before the start of the work. The work hours will be from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday, and possibly Saturday. As part of the Fiscal Year 2024 pavement preservation program, the Avondale City Public Works Department, in collaboration with VSS, will be applying a surface treatment to two stretches of road: Jimmie Johnson Drive, from the bridge to El Mirage Road, and Indian Springs Road, from El Mirage Road to 133rd Avenue.

Signage will be put up in advance to inform the public of the upcoming work. During the project, traffic control measures will be in place to ensure minimal delays. and work hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Please note that these schedules may change due to unforeseen issues, such as mechanical failures, adverse weather conditions, or delays in receiving materials.

As part of the FY24 pavement preservation program, The City of Avondale Public Works Department will be completing minor asphalt repairs and applying a Crack Seal treatment from early March to Mid-May during the work hours of 7am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. This process with have minimal traffic delays, and signage will be posted at the locations prior to work. We ask residents and commuters to remain mindful of these signs and adhere to any temporary traffic controls. Vehicles remaining in posted work zones are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense. Efforts will be made to ensure that access to homes and businesses is maintained throughout the project duration.
