The City of Avondale will be constructing a traffic signal at the intersection of El Mirage Road and Lower Buckeye Road. The project is intended to improve traffic flow, reduce delays along arterial roadways, and improve safety for motorists and pedestrians.

The improvements include a new traffic signal and ADA-compliant handicap ramps on all four corners of the intersection. To accommodate the work at the intersection, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on El Mirage Road and Thomas Road.

Work is expected to begin in early November 2024 and be completed by the end of March 2025. Schedules are always subject to change because of weather or other unforeseen factors. Please remember to slow down and use caution around construction workers and equipment. Motorists are advised to expect delays and to proceed with caution.
