Old Town Phase II Improvements

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 19 for waterline and roadway improvements in Old Town Avondale in the Del Monte and Goodale Unit 2 neighborhoods, located west of Central Avenue to 3rd Avenue, and north of Western Avenue to Dooley Drive.

Water system improvements include replacement of waterline, individual services, and fire hydrants; and road improvements include reconstruction of some concrete driveways, concrete sidewalk and ADA ramps, and replacement of street lighting and asphalt pavement.

Work will begin in the Del Monte neighborhood to install waterline in Hill Drive at Central Avenue, working west and north. Waterline work in Del Monte is expected to be complete in late October, with concrete and asphalt work taking place from September through January 2024. Work in Goodale Unit 2 is scheduled to commence in October 2023 with completion in February 2024 .

For residential streets where work is taking place, on-street parking may not be permitted, and through traffic will be detoured around the work zone. Local and emergency access will be maintained, although there may be temporary restrictions to driveways. Residents will be notified via door hanger for any planned disruptions to water or trash service. If you have a special need or request during the planned water outages or any access restrictions, please contact the project hotline at 602-532-6250.
